Engineering & Design
Many corporations come to Overton Industries looking for tooling, a machine, a mold, or a die, but they end up staying because of the engineering and design capabilities that are held within the Overton companies. Having hands on experience in many areas of expertise is the key to maintaining a proper engineering and design department. Several of our engineers have 20 years or more experience in their field. With a consistent dedication to education and an ongoing apprenticeship program, Overton often grows their talent from within. The experienced engineers work with those less experienced and eventually the student becomes the teacher. Overton utilizes the latest in engineering and design software and technology. Working mainly in Solidworks, 3D design is not a problem. Many times you can see the part or tool that is being designed before it is ever released to the floor. In addition to the software, Overton has a Konica Minolta 3D non-contact digitizer to reverse engineer any customer parts that may be without prints. The digitizer can also be used in an inspection and tooling development mode as well. If you value the design and engineering of the tools and parts that your company produces, it could literally pay to have Overton be a part of your engineering and design process. Overton utilizes:
  • Solidworks
  • Autocad
  • Surfcam
  • Mastercam
