Human Resource Generalist

Overton Industries, a value-added family-owned manufacturing company located in Mooresville, Indiana is seeking a Human Resource Generalist.

Successful candidates will earn approximately $19-$23 per hour depending on experience.

 

The Human Resources Generalist will: 

  • Maintain all records pertaining to each employee. Records include all documents within the employee life cycle: new hire, payroll, benefits, training and termination.
  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Coordinate new hire orientation.
  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; recognition; occupational health and safety; training and development.
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Conduct investigations of accidents, prepare reports, audits, and census collection as needed.
  • Administer the apprentice program.
  • Prepare and administer training grants.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

 

Human Resource Generalist candidates have: 

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in day-to-day Human Resources tasks.
  • Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
