This person is responsible for the estimation of custom tooling and machines within the Overton ERP software. This is done by gathering proposals, blueprints, customer specifications, and any other related documentation to prepare a proposal or estimate.

Responsibilities:

• Identify labor, material, and associated costs by studying past jobs or reviewing proposals, blueprints, specifications, or other related documents.
• Create estimates within Overton’s ERP software, JobBOSS.
• Act as a resource to project management during the award / start-up phase to clarify any issues regarding what was considered in the estimate including materials and methods.
• Review budget and project profitability on a regular basis to inform future estimating decisions.
• Provide input on continuous improvement efforts that may improve quote win rates.
• Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
• Manage some outside vendors and the process of outsourcing.
• This position may also create routers/travelers for processing through the shop.

The expertise you’ll need to succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or business field.
• 5+ years of estimating experience in manufacturing, preferably machining. Time spent in a machining role may be considered a bonus.
• Excellent organization and time management skills with an ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong team management skills with an ability to motivate cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
• Proactive mindset with a results-oriented approach, constantly seeking opportunities for process improvement and optimization.
