Refurbished and Upgraded Stamping Die
An aging and damaged stamping die finds new life with a rebuild.
A customer’s 20-year-old stamping die needed rebuilding after it was accidentally engaged with a bar left in the press. Overton commenced a complete rebuild of the top and bottom rail with the removal of all details from the existing die set, including the electronics and pneumatics. The reinstall incorporated an upgraded, more robust, heavier die set. Overton replaced the die shoe with a thicker shoe and all new punches and die buttons were replaced and manufactured from M-2 steel.
The result is a tool with better quality and better parts, able to run again as good—if not better—than its original condition.
